Telluride Ski Vacations

For the ultimate time spent on powdery slopes, Telluride ski vacations are a favorite. This beautiful town is nestled in a box canyon with 13,000 mountain peaks as the backdrop. The San Juan Mountains are simply gorgeous while offering some of the finest skiing in all of Colorado. The town itself is rich in history and simply charming.

While taking Telluride ski vacations, people can spend time in the National Historic District of the town.  Although small, measuring just six blocks wide and twelve blocks long, Telluride has a huge heart with amazing skiing and warm people.  The spirit of this Colorado town is just one of the many reasons people flock there.

However, the number one reason people go on Telluride ski vacations is for the incredible skiing and snowboarding on well-groomed slopes.  In Telluride, there are beginner slopes and lessons offered by professionals, along with intermediate and advanced slopes that provide tremendous challenge.  With this, there is something for skiers of all ages, lifestyles, and skill levels.

While on Telluride ski vacations, people can take chairlifts to the highest peaks or simply sit back at any number of restaurants to enjoy the magnificent views.  The slopes and scenery combined make this an exceptional Colorado vacation.  The town is quaint while still offering a progressive culture.  In addition to skiing, there is also electrifying nightlife, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, exceptional cuisine, and much more.

The greatest aspect of Telluride ski vacations is the mountain experience.  Throughout the mountain are trails and terrain of all levels, which ranges from simple, groomed slopes to steep slopes with difficult moguls.  If necessary, people can rent equipment and again, take lessons to learn to ski or improve on existing skills.

While on Telluride ski vacations, people have more than 1,700 acres of skiable terrain that includes 84 of the best skiing in all of Colorado.  Of these slopes, 24% are dedicated to the beginner, 38% for intermediate skiers, and 38% that focus on the advanced or expert skier.

To get up and down the slopes, Telluride has a total of 16 lifts with two of them being high-speed gondolas.  Other lifts include seven high-speed quads, two triples, two doubles, and two surface lifts.  This means that every hour, more than 21,000 skiers and snowboarders can make their way to whatever trail they want.

Considering that close to 310 inches of fresh snow fall every year, it is no wonder that Telluride ski vacations are the rave.  Of course, in addition to time spent skiing or snowboarding, Telluride also features some incredible accommodations.  People can choose from a traditional hotel, large condominiums, or charming inns, all ready and able to pamper.  For instance, after a hard day on the slopes, individuals can visit a spa for a relaxing massage or just sit back and enjoy a roaring fire.
